Hope for the Week | 11-30-16

Christmas Service Schedule
On December 22-24, we’ll be celebrating Christmas Eve at Hope! This year, we are excited to have our whole community together at our West Creek Campus. Service times for the entire holiday season (including New Year’s Day) are available at hopecentral.com/christmas.

Giving Hope
This Advent season, we’re inviting our Hope community to support Samaritan’s Purse through donations of $10 or more. Each donor will receive a holiday ornament and a card to give a loved one, letting them know that you made a donation in their honor. Checks can be made directly to Samaritan’s Purse. Visit the display near the Connect Desk for more details!

Bag It Sunday – Food Collection This Weekend
This Sunday, Hope will collect non-perishable food items and deliver them to local food banks. Fill a bag and bring it back this Sunday! All donations will benefit the Goochland Food Pantry (West Creek) and Feed More (Midtown). Thank you for all you do to help those in need!

Shadow Sunday
If you’re looking for a way to get connected at Hope, meet new people, and be a part of our mission, we would love to invite you to join a volunteer team. All new volunteers can show up on the first Sunday of the month for an opportunity to shadow a volunteer! This Sunday, December 4th, meet at 9am with Anne Gaskill at the West Creek campus or 9:50am with Mary Harrison at the Midtown campus to give it a try. Email agaskill@hopecentral.com or mharrison@hopecentral.com with any questions.

Year-End Giving
As the end of the year approaches, there are a few things to keep in mind regarding your giving to Hope. Most importantly, if you have moved in the past year, please make sure to update your address on The City if you have an account, or email your new address to Melinda Lestyan (mlestyan@hopecentral.com). This is to update church records and to assist with year-end financial statement mailings, which are required by law. For a few more helpful tips and reminders, check out our Giving page on the Hope website.

HOPE Church

Offering experiences, relationships and places where people can find life and purpose through Jesus Christ. From the beginning, Hope has been trying to help people who don’t know God, have every opportunity to do so. It’s part of our DNA. Since we believe a church is people and not a building, this means our mission can happen every day and all over the place – as Hope people go to work or school, and spend time with family, friends and colleagues. This means that we could offer experiences anywhere we find ourselves – a ball game, an evening out for dinner with a friend, a neighborhood cookout – you get the picture. It means that many places can become places where we seek to help people find life, God-life, the real thing. And we know that this often happens though sincere relationships and friendships.
