Higher Love Sermon Series
Do any of us ever feel that we have enough love? What can fill the gap between the love we long for and the love we currently experience? How is God’s love better, higher, more expansive, and more fulfilling than any other love we have experienced? We’ll be spending the next few weeks looking at what real love is, as God defines it.

Discover Hope
This two-day class is a great first step at Hope. It is designed to help people learn about what it means to have a relationship with Christ and what it means to be a member of Hope. We also teach about our mission, vision and values and share about specific ways you can get more involved. The next session is this weekend, November 3 & 4. Register here

God is doing some amazing things in our city and around the world. We are looking for everyday stories that are happening within our church and city. If you have a story, large or small, about what God is doing in your life, share it with us here.

Bag It Sunday
On the first Sunday of every month, Hope collects non-perishable food items and delivers them to local food banks. Fill a bag this week and bring it back next Sunday!

Shadow Sunday
Join us this Sunday to learn what serving on a volunteer team at Hope is all about. We’ll share details and give you the opportunity to shadow a volunteer that morning. Nov 5, 9am @ West Creek or 9:45am @ Midtown.

Cookies with Santa
On December 14th at our West Creek campus, children with special needs (infant-5th grade), along with their siblings and parents, are invited to enjoy cookies & milk with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Kids can wear pajamas and get a picture with Santa in a calm, intimate setting where they feel comfortable. Space is limited to 25 families. Register at here.

Sunday Gathering
Join us this Sunday for our regular gathering in the Lodge!
Middle school, 5-6:30pm
High school, 7:15-8:30pm

Winter Weekend, February 9-11
Every year, we love taking our middle school and high school students to North Bay Adventure Camp. This will be a weekend where we live together, talk together, and experience all that Jesus has in store for us over 3 days. Find more information and register here

Operation Christmas Child
Hope will be collecting Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes this year! Help us reach our goal of collecting 1,000 shoeboxes! Simply pick up a box (or as many as you’d like) in Hope Kids (West Creek) or the Connect Desk (Midtown), fill it with the appropriate gifts, then return it to Hope Kids before November 12. Find more information here.

Our community is growing, and we are excited about several new opportunities to join our staff. Find details at

Share Thanksgiving with an International Student
Thanksgiving Day provides an opportunity to offer a warm welcome to someone from another country and broaden your understanding of a different culture. VCU’s Global Education Office invites you to share this special holiday with VCU international students who are eager to visit an American home and make new friends. For more information, contact Pam Haney at or call 828-8309 no later than November 6. Click here to volunteer.

Hope Places Update
TOTAL HOPE PLACES COST                      $13,845,000.00

BEGINNING  BALANCE FROM IAH               -$1,743,287.56

FUNDS RECEIVED TO DATE                          -$9,187,372.70

CURRENT BALANCE TO FUND                   $2,914,339.74

Outstanding Pledge contributions                  -$1,599,577.71

BEST CASE SCENARIO TO FUND                 $1,314,762.03

This is our very best case scenario in closing out Hope Places.  Historically, only 90% of the overall pledges are fulfilled.  If Hope finds this scenario to be true, we would need to fund an additional $700,000 – $800,000 on top of the $1,314,762.

Ways to Make Giving Easy
We invite you to set up an online or recurring bill pay for your tithes and financial contributions. This method is helpful to you and to the church! Online giving may be done via The City, bill pay, PayPal, and EFT’s. Every gift is used to fulfill our mission of offering experiences, relationships and places where people can find LIFE and PURPOSE through Jesus Christ. Find more information here.

In this section we announce significant life events that occur within our Hope community. If you are celebrating the birth of a child or a marriage, or have experienced the death of an immediate family member, please contact the Hope office at 804-708-5330.

HOPE Church

Offering experiences, relationships and places where people can find life and purpose through Jesus Christ. From the beginning, Hope has been trying to help people who don’t know God, have every opportunity to do so. It’s part of our DNA. Since we believe a church is people and not a building, this means our mission can happen every day and all over the place – as Hope people go to work or school, and spend time with family, friends and colleagues. This means that we could offer experiences anywhere we find ourselves – a ball game, an evening out for dinner with a friend, a neighborhood cookout – you get the picture. It means that many places can become places where we seek to help people find life, God-life, the real thing. And we know that this often happens though sincere relationships and friendships.
