Hope for the Week - 8/23/17

Bag It Sunday – Feeding Local Families
Bag It Sunday will be collecting bags of non-perishable food on September 3rd and 10th. Please take a bag on your way out this Sunday and fill it with the items listed on the card inside the bag. We will be delivering the food to area food pantries on September 11th. Thank you for your support!                                  

Hope Golf Classic
The 2017 Hope Church Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 16 at The Federal Club. Invite friends, relatives, and co-workers to participate. All proceeds go to Hope Students Scholarships, which helps more students experience the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sponsorship opportunities are available! Discover Hope
This two-day class is a great first step at Hope. It is designed to help people learn about what it means to have a relationship with Christ and what it means to be a member of Hope. We also teach about our mission, vision and values and share about specific ways you can get more involved. The next session is this weekend, August 25 & 26. Register here.

Mentor / Mentee Program Information
If you are in your 20s to early 30s and would like to enter into an intentional discipleship program, consider being a part of an 8-month mentoring experience with an experienced leader at HOPEFor more details, go to hopecentral.com/mentoring/

Groups@West Creek
Join an 8-week interest-based group for our West Creek community. Meet new people, grow in your faith and get more connected into Hope life. Thrive
On September 21, we’re launching a new semester for Thrive, where women of all ages and stages connect weekly over teaching and conversation. This semester’s study is titled “Waiting…A Study of messianic passages from the book of Isaiah.”

Our study this semester will take us back into the prophetic writings of Isaiah — and through these divinely inspired passages we too can encounter the Jesus for whom the world has been waiting. The redemption and deliverance of God’s people is underway! Come be encouraged and strengthened as we journey together toward that ultimate fulfillment. Join us in the waiting… Register here.

Groups@Midtown
Join an 8-week interest-based group for our Midtown community. Meet new people, grow in your faith and get more connected into Hope life. (No pre-registration necessary.)

Hope Students 
Hope Students will not meet this Sunday. We will resume with the Fall Kick-Off on Sept 10 (MS and HS combined), 6:30-8pm in The Lodge.

At the kickoff, worship will be led by Drew Daniels, and Pete Bowell  will teach and cast vision for students as they enter into a new school year.

Thrift Store 
Did you know that Hope has a thrift store? Hope Thrift is a ministry of Hope Church, offering high quality items at fair prices to raise money to better our world. You can donate, shop, or volunteer Monday-Saturday at 11260 Patterson Ave. Learn more at hopethriftrva.com.

Beth Moore Simulcast at Mount Vernon Baptist Church

HOPE Church

Offering experiences, relationships and places where people can find life and purpose through Jesus Christ. From the beginning, Hope has been trying to help people who don’t know God, have every opportunity to do so. It’s part of our DNA. Since we believe a church is people and not a building, this means our mission can happen every day and all over the place – as Hope people go to work or school, and spend time with family, friends and colleagues. This means that we could offer experiences anywhere we find ourselves – a ball game, an evening out for dinner with a friend, a neighborhood cookout – you get the picture. It means that many places can become places where we seek to help people find life, God-life, the real thing. And we know that this often happens though sincere relationships and friendships.
