Bag It Sunday – Food Collection This Weekend
This Sunday, Hope will collect non-perishable food items and deliver them to local food banks. Fill a bag and bring it back this Sunday! All donations will benefit the Goochland Food Pantry (West Creek) and Feed More (Midtown). Thank you for all you do to help those in need!

Shadow Sunday
If you’re looking for a way to get connected at Hope, meet new people, and be a part of our mission, we would love to invite you to join a volunteer team. All new volunteers can show up on the first Sunday of the month for an opportunity to shadow a volunteer! This Sunday October 2nd, meet at 9am with Anne Gaskill at the West Creek campus or 9:50am with Mary Harrison at the Midtown campus to give it a try. Email Anne or Mary with any questions. Leadership Nominations
Leadership nominations are now open through Oct. 10th to receive candidates for the ordained office of deacon and elder. Elders and deacons serve three-year terms and provide governance and direction for the life of Hope. Any active member of Hope may nominate any other active member who is not a family member. Please submit nominations to Include your name, the name and contact (email/phone) of the person you are nominating, and several sentences about why you are recommending this person for leadership at Hope.

2016 Hope Golf Classic
The 2016 Hope Church Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 17 at Stonehenge Golf & Country Club, a beautiful, private golf course in Midlothian. Invite friends, relatives, and co-workers to be part of your Captain’s Choice Team. If you don’t have a team, we’ll pair you up. Cost per golfer is $95 that includes lunch, 18 holes, range balls, goodie bag, golf cart and dinner. All proceeds will go to Hope Student Ministry Scholarships, which helps more students experience the gospel of Jesus Christ during the Winter Retreat and Summer Camps. For more information and to register, click here.

Front Desk Volunteer Needed
Join our admin team!  Hope is currently seeking an administrative volunteer to serve four hours weekly at the main office reception desk. This is a great way to serve the staff and our community at HOPE with your clerical skills!  If you feel like this is something that suits your skill set and would like more info, please email Wendy Shaver at wshaver@hopecentral.

Thrive Has Begun!
Thrive is a place where women of all ages and stages connect weekly for teaching and conversation. Each week, Thrive offers large group teaching as well as table group conversation centered on the day’s lesson. Our desire is for women to be encouraged as they explore and deepen their understanding of God, while at the same time cultivate new and meaningful relationships with other women. The morning session is each Thursday, 10-11:30am, evening session is 7-8:30pm. Find more details and register here.

Monday Night Fellowship for Men
Join other men on October 10 at 6:30pm to learn about “Explore God – Reasons to Believe.” In addition to the talk, we’ll connect over dinner and share how to serve on a team. Find more information and sign up here.

Hope Singles Picnic
If you are in your 30s-50s and single, please join us on Saturday, October 15 for the Fourth Annual Fall Hope Singles Picnic from 12-5pm at Robious Landing Park. Children are welcome and encouraged to come! We will have time to socialize, enjoy a meal together, and play some fun games. We would love to see you there! Register at

Sensory Room Open House
Hope Kids is hosting an open house for our new sensory room for kids with special needs. Our community and families are invited to see the new space, meet Hope’s special needs team and enjoy dessert and coffee on Friday, October 14, 6:30-8pm (West Creek Campus).

HSM Fall Schedule
Hope Students is in full swing for the fall! Students gather each Sunday night (middle school from 5-6:30pm and high school from 7:15-8:30pm) in the new Lodge!

Midweek at Midtown
We are excited about Midweek at Midtown, meeting five Wednesdays starting tonight and going until October 26. We will be watching the videos and focusing on the questions from the Explore God series! Come join the conversation at 4912 W. Marshall Street, 6:30-8pm. Register here

Midtown Opportunity
We are hiring a part-time Technical Director for the Midtown Campus. This is a 10 hour / week position with primarily weekend and evening responsibilities. If you have experience engineering live audio, we’d love to talk with you! Find more details and apply here.

Looking for Sprouts Sitters
Sprouts is our kids’ program during the women’s gathering, Thrive. We are looking for more sitters to care for and teach the children. Our fall semester is meeting Thursday mornings for 10 weeks, starting tomorrow (Sept. 22). Sitters are needed from 9:30am-12pm. For information, please contact Jennie Crowe at

HOPE Church

Offering experiences, relationships and places where people can find life and purpose through Jesus Christ. From the beginning, Hope has been trying to help people who don’t know God, have every opportunity to do so. It’s part of our DNA. Since we believe a church is people and not a building, this means our mission can happen every day and all over the place – as Hope people go to work or school, and spend time with family, friends and colleagues. This means that we could offer experiences anywhere we find ourselves – a ball game, an evening out for dinner with a friend, a neighborhood cookout – you get the picture. It means that many places can become places where we seek to help people find life, God-life, the real thing. And we know that this often happens though sincere relationships and friendships.
