Hope for the Week - 8/2/17

“Bag It” Sunday
This Sunday, Hope will collect non-perishable food items and deliver them to local food banks. Fill a bag and bring it back this Sunday! All donations will benefit the Thomas Jefferson High School pantry and local food banks. Thank you for all you do to help those in need!

“Bill of Health” Collection Update for Medical Ambassadors International
As part of our “Moved” sermon series, we invited you to contribute to Medical Ambassadors International. We are happy to support them with a gift of $16,716. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Summer Baptisms

Hope Golf Classic
The 2017 Hope Church Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 16 at The Federal Club. Invite friends, relatives, and co-workers to be a part of your Captain’s Choice Team. If you don’t have a team, we’ll pair you up. All proceeds go to Hope Students Scholarships, which helps more students experience the gospel of Jesus Christ during Hope’s Winter Weekend and Summer Camps. Sponsorship opportunities are available! Shadow Sunday this Sunday
In the spirit of being moved to serve, we invite you to join us this Sunday, August 6 to learn what serving on a volunteer team at Hope is all about. We’ll share details and give you the opportunity to shadow a volunteer that morning! 9am @West Creek or 9:45am @Midtown.

Discover Hope
This two-day class is a great first step at Hope. It is designed to help people learn about what it means to have a relationship with Christ and what it means to be a member of Hope. We also teach about our mission, vision and values and share about specific ways you can get more involved. The next session is August 25 & 26. Register here.

Mentor / Mentee Program Information
The Mentoring Ministry is an intentional 8-month discipleship program pairing one mentor with two mentees. This is an opportunity to share together about all areas of growth, under the umbrella that all of life is informed by our growing faith.

If you are new (or not so new) and you’re ready to get connected at Midtown, please join us for lunch after church this Sunday, August 6. It’s a great way to get to know our leaders and find out more about Hope. Midtown Office, 4912 W. Marshall St., 12:30-1:30.

Hope Thrift – Ministry of the Month
The ministry of the month this Saturday, August 5, is 3WIDE Ministries. Rocky Marrin founded this inter-denominational men’s ministry to help men make better decisions and live with fewer regrets through the sharing of personal experiences and Biblical strategies. Come out and shop!

Art Show: Nicki Metcalf
Our West Creek campus is hosting an art show, featuring paintings by Nicki Metcalf. A sampling of her work is currently displayed in the West Creek concourse. Enjoy the artwork, refreshments, and reflections from the artist. Paintings and prints will be available for purchase this Friday, August 4 from 6-8pm.

HOPE Church

Offering experiences, relationships and places where people can find life and purpose through Jesus Christ. From the beginning, Hope has been trying to help people who don’t know God, have every opportunity to do so. It’s part of our DNA. Since we believe a church is people and not a building, this means our mission can happen every day and all over the place – as Hope people go to work or school, and spend time with family, friends and colleagues. This means that we could offer experiences anywhere we find ourselves – a ball game, an evening out for dinner with a friend, a neighborhood cookout – you get the picture. It means that many places can become places where we seek to help people find life, God-life, the real thing. And we know that this often happens though sincere relationships and friendships.
